If anything, I’d want my writing (whether that be my books or my blog) to reach out to people. In a sense of letting them know that they are not alone. So, I guess for me, I’d want my writing to help inspire people to communicate better.
I’ve said it several times before, but I love storytelling. Growing up, I was the turtle in the shell. A shy person who wouldn’t know what to say. Perhaps I was scared of what people thought of me. Or maybe I was afraid of saying the wrong thing and people would make fun of me for it. It’s a natural thing that I’m sure many of us go through. No matter what age you are. But, now that I’m grown, I want to sit down and be able to share stories with people whilst having an ice-cold glass of Coke in my hand.
I wouldn’t worry too much about whether it’d make a big or small change. In my mindset, if your writing has reached one person, then it’s successful. To be fair, not everyone should feel pressured to tell their stories (fictional or not). But if they do feel that they want to, then they can break down those barriers. They can be as concise or as simple as they want them to be. It might sound cheesy. But that is what I think.
