Her parents and the council refuse to acknowledge the monster’s existence. But she is determined to dig deep into the truth, even if it means breaking the rules… again.
The first book in the Before Ember series. It is a short tale of beginnings for two characters, Ayron and Selise. They both lead different lives. He wants to become an Evera Knight and leave his current home behind. She is on the search for something personal. Soon, their worlds collide as they are confronted by the Withered, monsters that slaughter anything in their path. Now, the two must work together to survive another day, along with the people around them.
