The World
Evera was once a world inhabited by dragons. Now considered a rare phenomenon, the human population expanded their territories starting from the south. This came to be known as the Expanse. Once the movement ended, the world became governed by a family of monarchs. King Osric becoming their first ruler.
The Quarrel War
Around the second month of the Expanse, the humans made first contact with the Vast, a race of people that endure the cold. Unlike humans, the Vast have hard, cold skin that keeps them from freezing. Beyond the Hoarfrost Forest, the Vast live high above toward the peaks of the Vast Mountains. Disputes have been made between the two in regard to the arrangement of settlements in the forest. Thus, it led to a heated five-year battle known as the Quarrel War.
The Anguish
After the Quarrel War concluded, Evera was invaded by human-like monsters with sharp teeth, claws, and greenish-blue veins spread across their bodies. These were known as the Withered. No one knows of their origin. The only thing that people knew about the Withered was that they were relentless and showed no mercy. Blood stained every inch. Food became scarce. Nobody was able to trust each other. Twenty-two years later, the lands became desolate and barren. Eventually, the humans and the vast united as a cohesive unit and put an end to the Withered. After the Anguish ended, both the humans and the vast signed the Compact, an agreement in which they live and support each other under peaceful terms.
